Why AdMate daily totals can change after a report is loaded
A daily total that changes after refresh is not automatically a bug. AdMate reads several provider APIs, and those providers can publish late events, adjustments, currency conversions or revised reports. The current day is especially fluid because it is still open.
To diagnose a moving number, separate provider revision from local snapshot timing and from an actual authorization or parsing failure.
Why an open day moves
Today’s total can change because activity is still arriving. Advertising impressions, subscription renewals, refunds, store transactions and analytics events do not all reach their reporting APIs at the same moment.
Even after midnight, the provider may still process late data. A calendar boundary in your local time may not match the service’s reporting time zone.
Use today’s card for awareness, not for final reconciliation.
Provider revisions
Different sources revise for different reasons:
- AdMob can update estimated earnings and apply later adjustments;
- RevenueCat can receive renewals, refunds or store events after the first view;
- App Store Connect reports can become available later or revise estimated proceeds;
- Google Play and Analytics reports can have their own processing windows;
- payments and financial reports follow closed provider periods rather than live days.
AdMate does not freeze the first value returned. A refreshed provider result should replace an older operational view.
Main app, cache and widgets
AdMate persists snapshots so the app, widgets and watch surfaces can show useful information without making every provider request at display time. That means two surfaces can briefly show data captured at different moments.
Use this order when accuracy matters:
- open the main app;
- select the intended account and period;
- trigger or wait for a fresh load;
- check the provider status and timestamp where available;
- treat a widget as a convenient snapshot, not the reconciliation source.
An offline snapshot remaining stable is expected. It should not be interpreted as a promise that the provider total is unchanged.
Time zones and date boundaries
A transaction near midnight can move between days when the provider, device and business report use different zones. This is one reason a two-day or month-to-date total may remain consistent while individual daily bars shift.
Record the zone used by the provider and use complete periods for comparisons. Avoid adjusting dates manually just to make charts align.
Currency conversion
When a view converts values, the conversion rule or rate date can affect the displayed result. A provider may also publish data in transaction currency and aggregate it later into a reporting currency.
If the underlying transaction count is stable but the converted total moves slightly, compare the provider currency, selected display currency and report revision before assuming duplicate data.
When a change is normal
Usually normal:
- today’s value increases during the day;
- yesterday changes slightly after provider processing;
- a refund reduces a later period;
- a widget updates after the main app;
- estimated proceeds differ from the closed financial report.
When to investigate
Investigate when:
- an entire account, project or app disappears;
- a closed historical period changes dramatically without a provider adjustment;
- repeated refreshes alternate between incompatible scopes;
- the provider dashboard is stable but AdMate consistently parses another value;
- authorization or report errors accompany the change.
Capture the service, account alias, metric, filters, dates and currency. Redact credentials and provider identifiers.
A stable comparison routine
For weekly or monthly reporting:
- avoid the incomplete current day;
- use the same account and app filters;
- compare equal-length complete periods;
- record whether the metric is estimated or finalized;
- save the provider’s closed report for material decisions;
- expect operational cards to keep evolving until close.
This routine also makes cross-provider reconciliation much easier.
Frequently asked questions
Did AdMate lose money when the number went down?
Not necessarily. The provider may have revised an estimate, applied a refund or changed the reporting scope. Check the source report.
Why is the widget behind?
Widgets read snapshots and refresh on platform-managed schedules. Open and refresh the main app for the newest available provider view.
Should yesterday be fixed forever?
No. Providers can process late events or adjustments. Closed financial reports are more stable than operational daily data.
Can I force all providers to use one time zone?
You can align your analysis periods, but each provider remains authoritative for its own report boundaries.
